QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Frequently Asked Questions

What is EMDR?

EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps the brain process distressing experiences influencing our present-day thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and physical reactions. By addressing these underlying experiences, EMDR can reduce emotional distress, shift limiting beliefs, and create greater flexibility in how we respond to challenges and shape our future.

How are EMDR Intensives different from weekly sessions?

While weekly, traditional talk therapy can provide valuable insight, understanding a problem doesn’t always change the emotional and physiological responses associated with it.

EMDR Intensives offer dedicated, extended periods of therapeutic work, allowing us to focus intentionally on specific concerns rather than spreading treatment across weekly appointments.

How quickly might I notice changes?

For some, this concentrated approach allows meaningful progress in a shorter period of time. Each person’s experience unfolds differently—some notice significant shifts and insights quickly, while others experience more gradual change. There is no right or wrong pace. Together, we will explore what emerges and adapt our work to what feels most meaningful to you. While specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed, the goal is lasting growth, greater clarity, and more ease in daily life.

What concerns do you work with?

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, PTSD, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and everyday stress, as well as athletes, students, and professionals seeking to overcome performance blocks and reach their potential.

How do I inquire about availability, fees, or scheduling?

Who do you work with?

I work with teenagers and adults.

How much do EMDR Intensives cost?

My fee is $200 per hour. Intensives are scheduled in four-hour daily increments, totaling $800 per four-hour day.

How do I get started?

Email me to arrange a free 30–40-minute initial consultation to discuss your goals and whether EMDR Intensives may be an appropriate fit.

Are EMDR Intensives covered by insurance?

EMDR Intensives are self-pay and are not covered by insurance. The fee is $200 per hour, or $800 for a four-hour intensive day.

What is the deposit and cancellation policy?

A non-refundable $800 deposit (the full cost of one four-hour intensive) is required at booking to reserve each intensive day. Clients must provide at least 72 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Changes made with less than 72 hours’ notice result in forfeiture of the deposit, except in cases of illness or medical emergency. In those circumstances, the deposit may be applied toward a rescheduled intensive. Deposits are not refundable.
